What if?

The activity encourages participants to use your imagination and to start asking questions about how initiatives and projects are impacting life in our societies. It encourages people to take part in wider democratic life by appreciating the art of conversation and the value of inquisitive enquiry around everything which has impact on our life. What if? presents a real-life scenario and encourages real-life reflections and solutions for a society that is sensitive to the needs of its people. This is an activity presented by the Malta Sociological Association with the Department of Sociology at the University of Malta as part of the Science in the City activities.

What if a giant hot dog stand were to be set up right on Triton square? Can you smell the burnt food and see the rising smoke? Can you hear the hawker tempting you to a delicious snack? Are you drooling yet? The Malta Sociological Association and the Department of Sociology in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Malta are collaborating to bring to you a simulation game during which we shall be inviting participants to understand the need for scientific methods to explore impact of projects on society. Let us introduce you to Social Impact Assessments as a tool for change and to Sociology as a science for change. This event is being held as part of the Science in the City activities.
