SEED raises awareness of how surplus food, community partnerships and needs-based support can reduce food waste and food insecurity while supporting families with dignity.
SEED – Securing Essentials for Every Day is a three-year initiative by the St Jeanne Antide Foundation addressing food insecurity and financial hardship through a sustainable, community-based approach.
As part of the Sustainable Development Action Days, a digital awareness campaign will highlight how SEED combines professionally assessed, needs-based support with the redistribution of quality surplus food, school-lunch support, volunteering and community partnerships.
Through five digital posts, the campaign will explore food insecurity, responsible consumption, dignity in accessing support, measurable impact, and the role of businesses, volunteers, schools and food suppliers. Rather than calling for additional material donations, the campaign aims to encourage reflection on how existing community resources can be used responsibly, reducing avoidable food waste while supporting people experiencing hardship with dignity.
