Malta’s Sustainable
Malta’s Sustainable Development Action Days form part of the broader European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW), a Europe‑wide initiative that showcases events, activities, and projects dedicated to promoting sustainable development. The ESDW brings together organisations, institutions, and citizens across Europe to raise public awareness of sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), encouraging active engagement and collective action.
The ESDW supports the 2030 Agenda by stimulating locally driven actions that directly engage with the SDGs. In doing so, it seeks to raise awareness of the 2030 Agenda across Europe and mobilises local stakeholders to actively advance sustainable development in general, and the SDGs in particular. The ESDW is held every year between 18 September and 8 October, with the core week falling between 20 and 26 September. The events may vary from year to another as Member States are encouraged to highlight the SDGs under review at that year’s UN High‑Level Political Forum.
