Festa Ħut celebrates the country’s fisheries sector, honouring the dedication of local fishermen while raising more awareness on sustainable fishing and its maritime heritage.

Festa Ħut celebrates the country’s fisheries sector recognising the valuable contribution of fishermen who dedicates their lives to the sea while safeguarding the country’s maritime traditions.

Organised by the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture, the event provides local fishermen with a platform to showcase their trade, products, and expertise while engaging directly with the public.

This year’s edition focuses on promoting underutilised local fish species, celebrate the work of fishermen and increasing consumer awareness on this sector and the benefits of consuming Maltese fish as part of the people’s diet.
