Sustainable Development
Article 7 of the Sustainable Development Act, Cap. 521 establishes Permanent Secretaries within each Ministry as Sustainable Development Coordinators for that Ministry. It also establishes the Directors responsible for Policy Development and Programme Implementation within each Ministry as Sustainable Development Focal Points for that Ministry.
The Coordinators are responsible for mainstreaming sustainability within the public administration and assisting the Sustainable Development Directorate, by providing input on the formulation, revision or monitoring of strategies, policies or any other sustainable development-related initiatives as well as providing any other form of input that may, from time to time, be required in respect of sustainable development.

The Sustainable Development Focal Points assist the Sustainable Development Coordinators in developing the Ministry’s position with respect to any requests related to sustainable development.
